Hastings Sunrise Cooks is a local community engagement project celebrating the neighbourhood's food and drink, community spirit, and love for all things green. Recipes from local restaurants, cafes and delis, help tell the story of this eclectic neighbourhood, while members of the community share their inspiration for calling Hastings Sunrise home.
The project team, consisting of Garibaldi Annex parents and honorary members, are proud to not only share this collection of recipes and stories of their community, but also, that this book gives back in a big way.
Proceeds from the sale of the book go to help the kids of Garibaldi Annex be the best they can be, with partial funds going to our charity partner, the Community First Foundation. Through the support of their local food program, Backpack Buddies, you are helping to send school-aged kids-in-need home with nutritious meals to sustain them through the weekend, and giving them the chance to blossom.
